Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of entrepreneurial orientation and entrepreneurial inspiration on entrepreneurial performance among entrepreneurs operating their business in South Punjab, Pakistan. This novel study offers and tests mechanism that explores the influence of entrepreneurial orientation and entrepreneurial inspiration on entrepreneurial performance of entrepreneurs with lens of entrepreneurship theory. This study collected online data using survey-based questionnaires from service sector entrepreneurs with the sample size of 211. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) technique was used to analyze the data. The current study analyzed and found direct positive and significant relationship of entrepreneurial orientation measured through its three dimensions namely innovativeness, pro-activeness and risk taking and entrepreneurial inspiration with entrepreneurial performance. In all three models, entrepreneurial inspiration does not moderate between entrepreurial orientation and entrepreneurial performance. The study did not found any significant moderation of entrepreneurial inspiration on entrepreneurial performance of entrepreneurs working in South Punjab, Pakistan. Theoretical and practical implications along with limitations and directions for future studies is discussed. [1]
