Abstract
The implementation of technology in education poses a challenge that demands attention from all educators. Extensive research has demonstrated the affirmative effect of utilising technology in education, which may come in the form of educational games, e-learning, or a variety of other applications. However, various barriers and challenges may prevent the effective use of technology in learning. This research will examine the literature related to the barriers and challenges faced by educators in implementing technology in learning. A literature review approach was used to conduct the research. A review of relevant reputable references identified a number of barriers and challenges must be overcome to ensure the successful integration of technology in the classroom. Both internal and external factors create barriers and challenges for educators. These include inadequate skills in operating equipment, insufficient self-learning skills in using technology, educators' reluctance to take responsibility for technology in the classroom, limited understanding of how to evaluate the use of technology for learning, lack of confidence in using technology and limited time to use technology. These barriers and challenges are compounded by the readiness of human resources to use technology, which means that it is necessary to increase the expertise of educators to use technology effectively.
